Story of Sarita Kamat

Born and brought up in the beautiful city of Belgaum in India, Sarita Kamat moved to Chicago 18 years ago and now live in Skokie, IL with her husband Salil, her kids Varun and Riya and her kitty babies – Cloud and Lightning.

Sarita is a multi-disciplinary artist, and has been experimenting with colors and different materials and mediums her whole life. She loves wandering and getting lost in the beauty of nature and takes much of my inspiration from the vibrant colors and texture that nature shares with us all. She loves working with watercolors, acrylics and alcohol inks. She earned Bachelors in Accounting and PG in Business Management before she went to Art School. After moving to USA, she explored using glass paints and began creating hand painted glassware. This led to her accidental love for creating hand painted glass jewelry. Meanwhile she also created mosaics for fun, next on her list is glass blowing and metal smithing.
